![]() ![]() Other versions of the Modpacks were created, including FTB Lite, which slimmed down the list of mods to assist new users learn the ins and outs without being overwhelmed. This process proved a long road for a few of the mods that were core to the pack. It stayed in beta status for some time because of the necessity for mod authors to update their mods to Minecraft version 1.4, where everything became server based. The initial modpack was released as a beta in November 2012. However, it then expanded to other genres, such as magic mods like Thaumcraft and Mystcraft. They initially focused on mods of a technical theme, such as IndustrialCraft 2, BuildCraft, and RedPower 2. The modpacks are centered around mods built on the Minecraft Forge platform. That version was then updated to a harder version, known as FTB Insanity, which took many players 50 to even over 100 hours of play time to fully complete. However most players that refer to the map, truly mean the pyramid map, known for its large basalt pyramid that included various rooms that listed a set of items the player had to create in order to solve each challenge. The map went through various iterations, including the bedrock map - known for the challenge and reward structure made of bedrock. At some point a decision was made to combine all of the mods into an easily distributable pack, as well as create a launcher that would stream-line installation. This version gained large popularity after being live-streamed on Twitch.TV with Direwolf20 vs Mattabase, both very well known users of the mods included in the map.Īs the map was released to the public, it became apparent that it was very difficult to distribute the map file, mods, and configuration settings to those interested in playing it. The map was then adapted to allow multiple players to compete against each other in a race to complete the objectives. Because FTB app included tech mods, it was possible to use the various custom blocks and items to keep track of the challenges and the player's progress, as well as automatically give awards after each challenge was met. It played very similar to a type of map known as Sky Block, where the player is started in a void world with only a small platform, and must overcome a series of challenges. If you are someone who doesn’t enjoy crafting there are hundreds of other packs out there, but if you like to build, this mod pack is perfect for you.Feed the Beast, also known as FTB Launcher for Mac, originated as a custom challenge map for Minecraft that made heavy use of many mods. Where can you run this program?įeed the Beast can be downloaded to computers using Windows or Linux operating systems. An example of this is Redstone mods being in both Technic Launcher and FTB. Some of the mods present are also found in other Minecraft mod compilations. If you´re using a different mod client and looking to upgrade, this is a mod package worth looking into. This change makes this mod pack a dream come true for crafters. This new style of play can take between 50 and 100 hours to complete. An insanity mode was later added for the pyramid. ![]() There is also an interesting mechanic set up where people can complete challenges.įTB is very similar to the pyramid room, where every area presented a crafting challenge that had to be completed before moving on. ![]() Users spawn on a small platform, and from there they can expand out and create a small world. When someone starts the program, they are inserted into a world that is very similar to Sky Block. Infinite supply of blocks were made to allow people to focus more on construction, rather than gathering and forging. This mod package offers a variety of environmental tools, as well as an infinite supply of blocks.įTB is a mod pack designed for builders to create even more spectacular structures than ever before. ![]()

The platform announced this week that it is testing the launch of audio rooms for in-app discussions, not unlike Clubhouse’s live audio chats. LinkedIn has officially recognized its potential as a solution to the continued disruption of live events by the pandemic. Perhaps this testing on Instagram’s part marks an acknowledgment that videos (specifically Reels) are on track to become the greatest drivers of engagement on the app. In my experience, pinned posts on TikTok help users to continue to drive traffic to a viral post without forcing interested viewers to scroll through their profile until they find it. I know I say it every week, but this beta-testing is no doubt a response to TikTok’s pinned videos feature. Should this feature be greenlit and become the new normal for Instagram, I predict pinning posts related to brand partnerships will become commonplace in contracts between creators and their sponsors. You can now choose to rank posts by engagement and performance or pin important announcements about your brand or business so that it’s the first thing followers or curious members of the ‘gram see when they visit your profile.
